| Talk about a blast from the past! Yes, you guessed right. Anne is my sister. So, you're tracking down long lost Ygnacioites. I certainly fit the bill! You guys have put together a wonderful website. I really enjoyed going through it and reliving some old memories. The 30th reunion vid was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, much as I'd like to, I won't be able to join you all for the 40th. If it had only been scheduled for a few weeks earlier! I've been in Japan most of the last 30 years, where I teach high school and college. And seeing how school is in session during the reunion, I won't be able to make it. But thanks for the effort of tracking me down. Good luck and best wishes to you and everyone. Mark Ledbetter |

I find it on the difficult side myself... and it sure sparks my memory snynapses, and an interest in identifying everyone, if possible. In the first row, I see Chris King (#3), Joanne Martyniak (I think), and David Stricker (later, David Webb). In the second row, there is Mark Anderson, I am wondering if John Marin posted the picture(s) of the second grade class of '58-'59 at Walnut Acres. That was my class Pattie Davies(?), and I suppose, Nancy Bevins (third from left). Row three has Cheryl Mangini, I am going to guess, then John Marin (perhaps?), followed by Devin Harris. The fourth row begins with Dick Hansen, Wendy Latham, maybe, and then I am not sure, though it could be Herman Gonzales, then Principal Shuey (I think that was his name), Ricki (sp.?) Pollycove(sp?), followed by someone who looks darned familiar, but no name comes to mind. I can get four out of five in the bottom row, starting with Mark Senavsky, then Miles Affleck, and another familiar face without a name (Dick Wihera?), then Mike Lamp, and me at the end. I remember Clifford Beck, Jeff Olpin, Beth Loeser, Susan Kennedy, Marty Hauser, Carolyn Langley, and Joey (Butch) Horace from those days, but I can't quite place them in the pix... Take care, Andy Plumb P.S. Here is a photo I have that is also of a time before we went to Ygnacio, but it's kind of evocative of the times. It's of my little league baseball team, The Cubs, circa 1961, and I am not even sure which one I am in the picture (probably covering my face with my baseball mitt): |

Speaking in a collective way, it is hard to believe that it has been 40 years, but sometimes it seems like its been 60 or more. I remember lots, but much of it is hazy, filtered through a number of lives since then. I think we should all change names for the reunion, exchange personalities, participate in a group performance art project, and/or dance to the music of the '90's, just for the heckuvit... Oh, I was never on the Cubs little league team as I put in my little comment (the one on the website) about the photo I sent (that was the Braves celebrating in the pic; you were on the Cubs, right?). Ahhhh, the sly tricks of memory... I have also been E-Mailing with Willard Sundquist about the days from 1958 to 1969 (he amazingly remembers more than lots), and he filled me in a bit more about the kids in Mrs. Lapham's second grade class (even though he was not in that class): Top Row: 1. David Noise - he attended San Miquel (SM) for at least 4th and 5th grades. He skipped a year, and was actually a year younger than us. He moved away after 5th grade. 2. ????? no idea 3. Chris King - He also attended SM, Oak Grove and YVHS. 4. Joann Martyniak - attended WA (Walnut Acres), Oak Grove, perhaps Pine Hollow, and YVHS. She graduated with us at YVHS. 5. David Stricker - attended WA, Oak Grove, Pine Hollow and started with us at YVHS, but finished at College Park High School. 2nd Row: 1. Mark Anderson - attended WA, SM, Oak Grove, and YVHS. 2. This girl looks so familiar, but I just can't remember her name. 3. ????? no idea 4. Michelle Botham???? - I think this is Michelle, but I'm not sure. 3rd Row: 1. Carolyn Bennett - this I'm ABSOLUTELY sure of! 2. ????? no idea 3. Devin Harris . 4. Kerry Wilmer - she also attended SM, Oak Grove and YVHS. 4th Row: 1. ????? it looks a bit like Dick Hansen, but I don't think it is him. 2. Ann Butzbach - she also went to SM through the 6th grade, and then moved away. 3. This kid really looks familiar but I have no idea about his name. 4. Mr. Shuey - WA Principal 5. Ricki Pollicove - she went SM in my third grade class and never returned to WA. She also attended Oak Grove and YVHS. 6. ????? no idea 5th Row: 1. Mark Senavsky 2. Miles Affleck 3. ????? no idea 4. Mike Lamp - He was another that stayed at WA, and went to Oak Grove, Pine Hollow, and YVHS. 5. And, of course, you. __________________________________ I hope you are doing well, Bob, and I will see you at the reunion if I don't find myself sidetracked by "life itself"... Take care, Andy Plumb |
